We recently attended a home in Alstonville that had a history of termite activity. Unfortunately, it was a history that hadn’t been addressed until now, as they had been active for a couple of years.
The termites had caused extensive damage to the entire structure of the home, including the walls, doors and roofing timbers. The damage was so severe that it got to the point where the structure was deemed unsafe, and required major costly repairs.
Before the repairs could get underway, we needed to come in and remove the termites completely. It wouldn’t do much good to replace the damaged timbers with new ones while leaving the termites there – that would be just like bringing the termites their 2nd course!
Do we just give it a spray and go?
Eradicating termites can be a lengthy process, requiring multiple visits and treatments over the course of a few weeks or longer. This longer and more considered approach is the only way to ensure that all of the termites have been completely taken care of.
Once we were confident that all of the termites were gone, the repairs could get underway. When all of the repairs are finished, we will be installing a chemical barrier for the home owner, to keep the termites from returning to start all over again and protect the home for the future.
